The Foundation received special recognition for providing vitally needed services for the elderly residents of ground zero, both on and after the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center attack. The Foundation's President, Linda Hoffman, distributed grants to reimburse elderly residents of ground zero for the cost of unexpected expenditures for necessities, such as air filter machines, cell phones and medications, due to the World Trade Center attack. These grants were made possible through a contribution received by the Foundation, from Magnolia Management, Inc., Hagerstown, Maryland.
